OWH Sketch Challenge #164

I've been in the card making mode this weekend, and decided it would be fun to play along with the  OWH Sketch Challenge.  I went to bed last night thinking I would use my new Turtley Awesome stamp set from Stamper's Best on my card today...a green Shellebration card would be "turtley" appropriate for a St. Patrick's Day post!  Well, my dog Zoe inspired me to go in a different direction. Every morning when she wants me to get up and feed her, she scratches on the door, climbs on me, then licks me in the face.  She just keeps repeating this process until I get up.  Today, as she was balancing on top of me, her four boney paws digging into my side, I thought of the elephant stamp from the SU Under the Big Top Set. (Zoe is not a small girl.) I guess that's how your mind works when you've been spending too much time in the craft room, right ladies? Ha!

Here's my first interpretation of the sketch:

The circus tent was cut at 2" on my Cricut from the Create a Critter cartridge.  I felt it was floating a little too much on the card, so I made a couple of more cards with the tent at the bottom of the card. That "felt" better, although is wasn't as true to the sketch.

I paper pieced the elephant with a textured gray DP from MME, then colored the ball and star with my copic markers.  Other papers used were Bashful Blue and Night of Navy from SU, and a textured red from DCWV. The big dot texture was done with my Cuttlebug.

I hope you had a pleasant St. Patrick's Day!  Here in Grand Forks we had snow and 5 degrees....quite a change from last year.  Thanks for stopping by to take a look!  Have a great week!

Blessings,
Shari B
