OWH Sketch Challenge 166

166

Hello, peeps!  Have you all come down from your Easter candy sugar high? Hope you had a great day. I had a fun afternoon with my kids and grandaughter then had some time to play in my craft room.

My craft room was as cleaned up as it ever gets...boy, does that get the mojo flowing! I pulled out the Latte matstack from DCWV, some masculine stamp sets from Stampin Up, and decided to play along with the OWH Sketch Challenge.

I stamped the Lighthouse image in Memento London Fog.  For the embellishments I tried three charcoal banners on one, and three light gray ribbon banners on the other.  Never quite sure how to embellish guy cards...looking forward to the Spring Training Bloghop at OWH next weekend to get some masculine card ideas!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great week!

Blessings,

Got Eggs?

Happy Easter!  I hope you all had a great day, and were able to enjoy time with your family.  While I know the true meaning of Easter has nothing to do with eggs or bunnies, I sure had fun playing in my craft room to create these cards.  The bunnies are cut from the Create a Critter cartrdge, and the egg was cut using a Creative Memories template.  I used my Cuttlebug and some Martha Stewart washi tape to decorate the eggs.  The setiments are from Scrappy Moms "Spring Fling" stamp set.

I'm linking this up to Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge.  Before I sign off, I also wanted to share something fun that I ran across in my Easter decorations.  My mother-in-law made these little chickens for the grandkids' Easter baskets a very long time ago!  There's a plastic egg inside, which was filled with some loose change.  My son Josh was just a little tyke at the time, and he called this his "chicken account".  Ha!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.  Have a great week, and THINK SPRING!

OWH Sketch Challenge #165

165

Today I've been trying out some fun extras I received in my last Stampin' Up! order and playing along with the OWH Sketch Challenge

This bold leaf print was just screaming for either a bird or floral focal point.  I went with my bird punch and an SU stamp set called Language of Friendship.  This is a great layout, and I hope to try my hand at a few more cards using this sketch!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

OWH Things with Wheels

Here's a fun card I made with the Nifty Fifties cartridge a few weeks back.  It was inspired by the OWH Things with Wheels card challenge, but I forgot to post and link before the challenge closed!

The car (page 24) was cut at 1 3/4" and the red arrow is from my Smash book supplies.  The sentiment is from the Mini Messages set from Scrappy Mom's.

This cartridge has a lot of fun cuts and will be great for Father's Day and other masculine cards!

I THINK I'm done posting for today, but hope to be back later in the week with some new creations! Hope you're having a crafty and creative day!

ODBD March Challenge: Scallops

The Our Daily Bread Design March Challenge is to make a card with a scallop.
I'm linking up this cute little lion, made with the Create a Critter 2 cartridge...my new favorite! I made this card for my granddaughter, Anna, and hope to make some more just like it to send to Operation Write Home.

Hope you're having a "roaring" good time this weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings,

Country Life Love

Just a quick post to share this card I made using  the Country Life cricut cartridge.  I had a little trouble assembling the hen without the bottom gold layer showing, so I inked all the edges brown. Adds a nice touch to the card, I think! Don't you love it when things seem to be going horribly wrong but everything is good in the end?

The background paper is from My Minds Eye...I am loving the 6X6 pads that Michael's is carrying from MME right now!  Now if I can only continue to use it up and stop hoarding it! The sentiment is from my Scrappy Moms "Mini Messages" set....I'm loving that set too!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Pinterest Inspiration and a Pinterest Fail!

This card was inspired by a card on Pinterest with a bold horizontal background stripe.  I knew right away I wanted to use this cute little puffin from Stamper's Best as the focal point!  The striped paper was from Michael's and I added some pearls for a little extra pop.

Now, to my Pinterest fail!  Only two ingredients.... a cup of oatmeal and 2 mashed bananas, bake 15 minutes.  NOT too good!  Thought maybe some chilling would help, but...even worse!  Do not try this at home, kids. Ha!   Have you had any Pinterest fails?

Hope you're having a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!
