Hello, crafty ones. It's time to get out the manly paper and stamps and start working on some Father's Day cards! There's a new challenge at Operation Write Home for the month of April - the "Muscle Card Challenge". To be entered in the challenge, send a package of half Father's Day cards and half general cards to OWH in April.
Here's a card I made for OWH today when I was playing in my craft room:
The dog is a Penny Black stamp I colored with my copic markers. The paper is from the DCWV Latte Matstack and ribbon is Papertrey Ink. I wasn't sure if I should line things up or not, but it was one of those situations where as I was trying to decide the adhesive really STUCK and there was no turning back!
Hope you're having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

God Bless the USA!
Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share some Any Hero cards I just finished for Operation Write Home. Feels good to FINISH some cards...I've had a lot of projects in the works lately! My self-imposed challenge here was to take some cheesy holographic flag stickers and turn them into classy Any Hero cards.
I started with something really basic...a navy base, with a red embossed layer of stars. Then I added the Hampton Art ($1 bin) sentiment and my flag sticker.
Looked pretty good, but I wanted to kick it up a notch. I found some red PaperTrey Ink ribbon, large silver star brads, sentiment stamps from Scrappy Moms and a simple Stampin' Up border punch. Here are the results:
My favorite is the God bless the USA card. I think it turned out very classy!
My next goal is to make some Any Hero cards that are NOT red, white and blue! Guess I'll be scouring my craft room for some cheesy camouflage paper next!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a WONDERFUL weekend!

OWH Color Challenge - Yellow and Green!
The Midweek Throwdown Challenge over at OWH Stars and Stamps Blog is a yellow and green color challenge! I L-O-V-E yellow and green, together or separately! : )
Here's a Father's Day card I made using our lovely color scheme of the week! I can't tell you much about the supplies used, other than I pulled the pieces and parts out of my "reject basket" and threw this together! I DO know that the rectangle stamp used for the background design and the sentiment stamp are both from Stampin' Up. The bunny is embossed on vellum and colored on the reverse side with water based markers.
The inside is kind of cute, too! Love a punny card!

OWH Sketch Challenge #113
When I saw the OWH Sketch Challenge for this week, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. A couple of hours and many design changes later - here's what it evolved into!
The stamp is "Easy Rider" from Penny Black, which I had previously colored with copic markers, and the DP is Anna Griffin paper that I inked up with Rose Red. I added Barely Banana from Stampin' Up! (which seems to be a go-to color for me lately!), a sentiment is from Hero Arts and some favorite ribbon I got at Michael's a while back. No Cricut or Cuttlebug on this one...how did THAT happen?
Now - on to my next project of the day, which is getting started on a SMASH book with memorabilia and photos from my trip to the Holy Land in February. Hope you are having a fabulous day, and thanks for stopping by!

Hangin' with my Peeps!
A beautiful day in Grand Forks, and noteworthy as well. President Clinton is in town, Marilyn is back from the Big Apple, it's St. Patrick's Day, and I've had fresh air breezing through the house all day! After a few weeks of being tired, run down and mojo-less, I finally am feeling energized and creative!
The cute little critters on my card below have been patiently waiting a WHOLE YEAR to find a home. This card came together quickly with a sentiment from Scrappy Mom's stamped on a die cut I found in my stash (cartridge unknown) and paper from Stampin' Up. The grass die cut is from Plantin Schoolbook. The yellow embossed strip is Barely Banana from SU, and I added a bit of twine for a finishing touch.
I'm linking this up to the OWH Stars and Stamps Blog for the March ODBD Challenge. The challenge was to use three techniques in one card. I used embossing, stripes, and ribbon. Well, OK it's twine...but I could go with die-cut, layers and stripes.

Hope you're having a GREAT DAY! Thanks for stopping by to take a peep...I mean peek!
