Design Bootcamp: Repetition

Hello!  Haven't posted in a while, but this week's Design Bootcamp over at Operation Write Home inspired me to get back to it!  This week's lesson is on repetition, which I used in this fun card using the camper from the Campin' Critters Cricut cartridge.

I've got lots of polka dots going on in this design with the use of the swiss dot embossing folder on the body of the camper, polka dot patterned paper and a polka dot banner. Even the tire and the brad for the doornob reinforce the "dot" design!  I added contrast in the patterns by added a bold stripe and a contrast in color by using very bright saturated accents on the camper, but  more faded colors on the background paper.

This card really says "summer is here" to me, and reminds me of all the fun camping trips I had with my family growing up.  Hope you're enjoying your summer! Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Blessings,
Shari B

  1. Hi Shari- I love how you used the polka dots and that is a great image from the cricut cartridge-- great focal point! The brad on the door is a great touch.

  2. Ahhh summer! :) This is just adorable Shari and you did a great job incorporating repetition in both pattern and color not mention good contrast and a strong focal point. Those little pennant flags are sweet as is this card. Thanks for joining in on the June Bootcamp and sharing this with everyone!
